Dinomy Privacy Policy

Dinomy is a children’s story, song and learning app made for families. It is published by Yughan Raj V Sangar (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what Dinomy collects, why, and what we never do.

The short version

• Grown-ups hold the account. Children never create accounts, never type their email, and never see ads.
• We keep what we need to run your family’s library and nothing more.
• Your child’s voice is never stored. Mic games check an answer and discard the audio immediately.
• Photos you give us to make a character are used once and deleted.
• We do not sell data, show ads, or use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

What we collect

Account (grown-up). When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive a user id, your email address and, if you share it, a display name. This is how your family’s library follows you between devices.

Child profile. The first name (or nickname) you enter, an age band, optional interests, an optional learning level and an optional gender (girl / boy / prefer not to say). You can leave gender unset; it only changes the pronouns in stories.

Your family’s creations. The stories, songs, lessons, characters and drawings you make in the app, and the text you type to make them (for example “a story about sharing”). These are generated by AI providers on our behalf (OpenAI for text and pictures; DeepInfra for voices, singing and short video clips). The text you type, the child’s first name and age band are sent to those providers to make the creation. They are not used to train their models under the terms we hold with them.

Play progress. Which lessons and stories your child opened, stars earned, and answers in games, so the Progress tab can show you what was practised.

Purchases. Subscription and credit purchases are made through Apple. We receive Apple’s signed confirmation (product, dates, environment) and store it to unlock your plan. We never see your payment details.

Usage and cost metering. How many creations were made each day and what they cost us to generate, so fair-use limits work.

What we do not collect

• No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no third-party analytics.
• No location.
• No contacts.
• No audio recordings: mic games send the child’s answer to a speech check and the audio is discarded immediately; it is never written to disk or logs.
• No child photos: a photo used for the “photo → character” path is sent once to the image provider to create the character and is not stored by us.

Where it lives

Your data is stored in Supabase (Postgres and file storage) and processed on our API server hosted on Render. Access is restricted to your family’s accounts by row-level security.

The website waitlist

If you leave your email on dinomy.com to hear when Dinomy launches, we store that email, the optional age band you picked, and which page you were on, in our database. We use it for one launch email and nothing else, never share it, and delete it on request — write to support@dinomy.com. No cookies are set by that form.

Your choices

• Delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete. This removes your family, children, creations and purchases records from our systems. Apple keeps its own purchase history.
• Remove a child from Settings; their profile and progress are deleted.
• Manage your subscription in Settings or in the App Store.

Children’s privacy

Dinomy is designed for children under 13 to use with a grown-up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children directly. Everything about a child is entered by the grown-up who holds the account. A parental gate sits in front of purchases and links that leave the app.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
